Personal Training Plan FAQs

personal trainerKat Fitness aims to answer all your personal training plan frequently asked questions here which are often asked by clients. See below information to learn more about what is involved in the personal training services from Kat Fitness.

What are the benefits of personal training plans?

A personal plan is specifically made for you and your personal goals, whether it be to lose weight, gain muscle or get fitter. We start by assessing your current fitness levels using specific tests and exercises before creating a personalised exercise program that will help you achieve specific personal goals. Our personal training sessions are personalised to your own goals by creating a personalised diet and exercise program that is based on your current state of health, fitness level and personal goals.

Is hiring a personal trainer worth it?

It’s worth it to hire a personal trainer if you need someone to push you during workouts and help hone your skills.

Having a trainer for your workouts is more of a lifestyle decision, rather than the answer to losing weight, as it’s important to know that with these services trainers can help you come up with a plan tailored to your needs and give you motivation when needed
Regardless of what anyone says, exercise alone is not going to result in weight loss. It just burns calories, so if those calories are replaced through eating again – there will be no net gain. Hiring a personal trainer gives you access to someone who can create an exercise plan for you and remind you when things get tough or sad! It also increases accountability by having them report back on progress with tracking your measurements each week.

A personal training session keeps people accountable for their fitness activities because they know they can’t skip one, or miss a day. It also helps them stay motivated by having someone there to keep them on track and help them learn exercises that work best for their bodies. If you’re serious about your fitness goals, hiring a trainer could be the perfect way to jump-start your program and make sure it works for, not against, your body type and needs.

What does a personal training plan involve?

A free initial assessment with a highly qualified personal trainer who will ask you some questions about why you want to start personal fitness training , the personal goals you wish to achieve and will ask you what your expectations are of personal training. The personal training plan you follow will be tailored to your personal goals and will include a mixture of strength (weight)training, cardio (aerobic) workouts such as rowing machines or exercise bikes and core stability sessions which is a really important part of personal fitness training.

How long is a personal training session?

A person training session does greatly depend on your own fitness goals. Call Kat on 07891 853 070 to find out more about how long the average personal training sessions are for.  Roughly speaking, each one could last for an hour or so although you should get in touch if you have any specific time limits or requirements.

What should I expect at my first personal training session?

If you are looking to work with Kat for the first time, fear not as I will aim to make you as comfortable as possible with full support to guide you on the way to your personal fitness journey. Our first session is designed to learn more about you as well as your own individual needs. Typically, there will be some paperwork to fill in, a quick tour, a discussion on your past health and future fitness requirements as well as a short workout and fitness assessment.

What happens in a personal training session?

A personal trainer will conduct an initial assessment with you which will usually take around 30 minutes. During this time, some active readings are taken, such as resting heart rate, blood pressure etc. before conducting a personal training session which usually involves weight training, cardiovascular work and core stability.

How do I create a personal training plan?

It depends on your personal fitness goals. A personal trainer will create a personal training plan that suits your personal fitness goals, which you can then follow at home, online through our video calls or in the gym.

How many training sessions should a personal trainer have?

Your fitness level will be assessed in the beginning as well as checking for any muscle-related tensions. A structured, tailor-made program will be created based around your needs with achievable fitness goals set. If you are new to fitness training and exercising, it is recommended to initially meet 2-3 times a week in order to develop the proper form and avoid picking up any unwanted injuries in the long run.

How much does a personal training plan cost?

The personal training plan is included in the personal training packages. We usually recommend a minimum of two personal training sessions per week for maximum results and to keep you motivated. However, one to one training is also available with different blocks which include packages of training sessions. See our Prices page to find out more about the options and fees.

Are personal training sessions worth it?

Yes, if your training goal is quite specific or you are looking to improve quickly, it is definitely recommended to use a personal fitness trainer. This will help keep you on the right tracks with further motivation to help you push yourself. Learning the correct form is important for your safety and a personal trainer will be able to tell whether adjustments to posture, position or movement ranges are needed. In addition, you will benefit from Kat’s many  years of gaining invaluable knowledge and experience within the fitness industry and full monitoring or your plan, based on your progress being made.

What happens if I can’t do what my personal trainer tells me?

It’s normal that you may not be able to complete certain exercises or tasks, but personal training is about pushing yourself to the limit. Your personal trainer will work with you to ensure that you can complete the exercises safely, but they can also help motivate and encourage you along the way.
